India continued its strong showing on the athletics track as the mixed 4x400m relay team secured a silver medal, its third consecutive podium finish in the event.
The quartet of TS Manu, MR Poovamma, Vishal TK and Vithya Ramraj clocked 3:14.46 to finish second behind Bahrain, who claimed gold in a Games-record 3:12.87.
In the women's 10,000m final, Seema Kumari ended India's 16-year wait for a medal in the event by securing a historic bronze. Her achievement added another notable chapter to India's athletics campaign at the Asian Games.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Seema on the achievement, posting on X: “Proud of Seema on winning the Bronze Medal in the Women's 10,000m at the Asian Games! Congrats to her.”
