Aaron Phangiso then removed Chadwick Walton and Gayle, with the latter trapped lbw after hitting four fours and five sixes. Tahir struck twice in the same over to dismiss Raymon Reifer and Dwayne Bravo, leaving West Indies reeling at 84-6.

Carlos Brathwaite offered some late resistance with a quick 29 off 13 balls, including three sixes, but Robert Frylinck ended his counterattack before helping wrap up the innings. West Indies were eventually bowled out for 145 in 18.2 overs.

Tahir and Phangiso claimed three wickets each, finishing with figures of 3-24 and 3-49 respectively, while Frylinck took 2-22. South Africa's powerful batting display and disciplined bowling secured a comprehensive 97-run victory.
